GRENADA

The State of Grenada comprises three main islands: Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Grenada has earned the reputation of being the Isle of Spice and deservedly so, as there are more spices grown per square mile than on any other place on the planet.

Nutmeg, mace, turmeric, bay leaves, clove, cinnamon and ginger are amongst the main spice exports. In fact, nutmeg, first introduced in 1843 is a precious commodity to this day for its healing, preservative and flavouring qualities. Today, the island is the world’s second largest exporter of nutmeg and mace and it is only second to tourism in generating foreign exchange. When you moor, visit or stay at Lazuli you have the added advantage of being enveloped in the rich cultural diversity of the region’s African, English, French, Spanish and Dutch traditions.
