Nature

There is so much to explore on the island of Grenada.

The island is 22 miles long and 12 miles wide with some of the most varied terrain in the Caribbean.

It is always a great day for exploration and hashing is also popular (the highest mountain is Mount St Catherine at more than 2,750 feet). Plant life is abundant with dwarf forests, rainforests and dry forests in the interior and mangroves on the coast.

There are many national parks on the island. The Grand Etang National Park is a major tourist attraction. It covers 30 acres around the region of the Grand Etang Lake, which is 1,740 feet above sea level.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you could opt for a rainforest excursion; but even a drive along the coastal roads is a great way to appreciate the natural beauty of this tropical paradise.
